PUBLIC NOTICE ON DOCTORS STRIKE IN KENYA.
The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacist and Dentists union (KMPDU) has provided a notice to the Public that all Doctors in the Republic of Kenya working in all the Public hospitals in the country including Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Moi Teaching and Referral hospital (MTRH) would go on Strike Starting Monday 5th December 2016 00:00hours.
The Doctors want to exercise their Constitutional right in accordance with article 41 of the Kenyan constitution as the last available option due to a 3 year unresolved dispute between them and the Government of Kenya that involves the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed on the 27th June 2013 and effective 1st July 2013.
KMPDU advised all citizens of Kenya to seek Emergency Medical Services from Private Hospitals as it is their constitutional right as stipulated in the constitution of Kenya 2010 article 43 (2) that all individuals are entitled to receive Emergency medical services.
The Doctors also called upon all Kenyans to join them in demanding better health service delivery by efficient and fair treatment to the doctors who provide the services.
Here is the Notice to all Kenyans.
