Food poisoning is the illness as a result of consumption of contaminated food with bacteria, viruses, parasites as well as chemical and natural toxins. Food poisoning also presents just like Gastroenteritis. In Kenya Gastroenteritis is very common in children. Many children presents in our hospitals with diarrhoea. Washing your hands appropriately and consistently greatly reduces your chances of getting sick and spreading the germs to others, hence reducing the number of hospital admissions, especially children below 5 years of age.
