Ask the Experts: How can I cover age spots?

Q: How can I cover age spots? Sadie, 42

An orange concealer is best to cover age spots (also known as liver spots). Concealers are often applied on top of foundation, but I prefer using them underneath for smoother coverage. There are some great natural choices on the market, including RMS Beauty ‘Un’ Cover Up (£34), which evens out skin tone and small imperfections without drying your skin. Use either a synthetic concealer brush or fingers for best results.

Vapour Organic Beauty Illusionist Concealer (£24) has a high pigment load for areas that need extra coverage and seven shades to choose from. Made with 70 per cent certified organic ingredients, 30 per cent natural mineral pigments and vitamins. For smooth application, warm the concealer in a circular motion on the back of your hand as the product is activated by the warmth of your skin.
